The New Rampage Merch Stand
Rampage Merch at OSHS is a student-run business through the entrepreneurship class taught by Mrs. Dailey that sells different Rams’ apparel that supports school spirit. Rampage Merch was started in the spring of 2024 by the entrepreneurship class through a program called Junior Achievement Company Program. Per Mrs. Dailey, the purpose of this business and program is to give “high school students an opportunity to take on the risk of being an entrepreneur in the safety net of the classroom.” Dailey also added, “My goals for this project are to give students an opportunity they would otherwise not have by allowing them to take on a role within a company and make business decisions that have real implications.”
Senior president of Rampage Merch, Katherine DiPietro, said her goals are, “To get the recognition it [Rampage Merch] deserves” by selling it at different events throughout the school year. One of their biggest hits of the 2025 school year is the Rampage Merch stand outside of the cafeteria. It is a new addition this semester and DiPietro said, “It [the stand] was easier than what we did last semester with the cart, because we brought it [the cart] back and forth from Dailey’s room to the cafe.” The stand resides just outside of the cafeteria.
Dailey has strong hopes for the future of this class and wants to continue it in the future. She says, “Students not only learn about what it means to be an entrepreneur in this course, but they also learn about themselves – their communication style, leadership skills, level of motivation, organization, and more.”
Rampage Merch continues to work to improve and promotes the business by sending emails to parents and students looking for feedback. DiPietro added, “It is hard at the moment to find events to sell at.” In order to try to fix this issue, DiPietro said that after receiving peer feedback that they are going to start selling at sporting events. They have newly updated their Merch with additions of Old Saybrook T-Shirts, OS Pride Signs, and Rocky the Ram Stuffed Animals. Per popular demand, they have also created an online store. This is helpful to get a greater population of sales from outside of the student population.
Dailey concluded with, “At the end of the semester, the company liquidates by giving all the investors their money back, making a donation to a local non-profit, and paying the employees (students in the class).” If you are interested in buying from Rampage Merch, please visit their in-school stand or their website rampage-merch.square.site.
