With Halloween fast approaching, people all over the world are getting ready for all of the fun festivities that come with it, but what does the OSHS community do to celebrate? Do they dress up? Eat candy? Go to festivals? It turns out everyone has their own ways of celebrating this fall holiday.
Freshman Alex Wilson shared, “I go around houses, knock on doors, say trick or treat, then I repeat.” As many people know, trick-or-treating is a popular Halloween tradition where people of all ages dress up and go door-to-door collecting candy. It’s a fun way for families and friends to celebrate and enjoy the festive spirit together.
Many people enjoy dressing in costumes to celebrate Halloween. Sophomore Beni Misenti explained how he was planning on dressing up as “a super cool person.” Sophomore Carly Sherwood plans to be: “Paul Stanley, guitarist from the 90’s band KISS.” With so many options available, Halloween allows for endless creativity in costume choices. Whether you want to be a superhero, a pop culture icon, or something entirely unique, the freedom to express yourself makes celebrating the holiday even more fun.
With a variety of candies to pick as a favorite, freshman Leander Crete said “Probably Kit-kats.” When Mrs. Menga was questioned about her favorite candy she replied, “Something peanut-buttery. Probably Reeses.” Mrs. Newton claims that, “Toblerone or Twix,” are her favorite candies.
