Everyone at Old Saybrook High School might know the name Tommy Pisani because of his performances in the talent show, but there is more to learn about this talent show winner and his journey to loving music.
Pisani, a sophomore at OSHS, grew up playing music and has been playing since the age of two. Tommy states, “Because of my dad, I have had great experiences with music and learned a lot.” Growing up, Tommy’s father was a musician who toured around the world and worked with well-known musicians like Alicia Keys. Consequently, he credits his love for music to him. Tommy learned how to play many different instruments throughout his life like the bass, guitar, drums, and he also sings. Although his favorites are the drums and guitar in which he mainly plays in his freetime. Tommy also added that his favorite style of music to play is metal rock.
Tommy’s fame at OSHS started last year, when he came in second place in the talent show as a freshman. Tommy said that his “love for performing” inspired him to play, which overrode his nervousness to get on stage as a freshman. This year he was inspired to perform again because of last year’s turnout and the response he got to other people listening to him play. Tommy was extremely grateful for all of the support and the first place victory as he commented that he was “surprised, especially because of all the talented acts in the show, but it felt very good to win.” Trevyn Desmond, a junior at OSHS says, “Tommy was born to be a rockstar” and “I’ve never seen someone rock as hard as him.”
