With the end of the fall sports season, many players throughout the shoreline conference were recognized for their hard work and dedication that season. Whether the sport is soccer, field hockey, or even cross country, the Old Saybrook Rams have athletes being awarded for their efforts this 2025 season.
The Old Saybrook Boys Soccer Team finished as the 3rd seed in the Shoreline Conference, earning themselves five recognitions for the players and their effort. Senior Captain Casey DeAngelo and junior Walter Bansley were awarded All-Shoreline First Team, while freshman Cesare Girardi was the first freshman in over 10 years to be awarded as All-Shoreline First team. Girardi said, “I worked very hard throughout my career and I am very proud of myself to have been a part of the varsity team this year. I am very honored to have won First Team All-Shoreline as a freshman, but even more grateful to showcase my talents and determination.” Junior Wyatt Parker was All-Shoreline Second Team, and senior Captain Ethan Terribile received Honorable Mention Team.

The Girls Soccer team finished as the third seed in the Shoreline Conference, with three players earning an All-Conference team award. Junior Annalise Sarette was awarded First Team All-Shoreline, making it the second year in a row she was recognized. Sarette states, “To be named First Team All-Shoreline for the second consecutive year was an honor because I work very hard off the field to be successful, but I wouldn’t have gotten the award if it wasn’t for the other 10 people on the field who work endlessly.” Junior Grace Bollmann received Second Team All-Conference and Ari Fox got All-Shorline Honorable mention.water mpki

The Field Hockey team faced adversity on the field, however three girls gained recognition. Junior Goalie Felicia Lombard was awarded First Team All-Shoreline. This was Lombard’s first year as a varsity Goalie. In addition to being named to an All-Shoreline team, Lombard received All-State second team. Felicia said, “it’s just still very surreal. I never expected getting that kind of award after not having the best record but I’m super grateful for it, especially because it is my first year as a varsity goalie.“ Both senior Captains Emma Courtright and Kathryn DeMeulemeester were awarded. Courtright was awarded All-Shoreline Second Team and DeMeulemeester received All-Shoreline Honorable Mention.

Cross Country had their Shoreline Conference tournament on 10/23. Junior captain Gordon Martino placed 5th overall, earning himself a first team All-Conference award. However, Martino also was named First Team All-State for the second year in a row. Martino said, “I’m glad all the work I put in this season has paid off.” Martino has his goals set high for the future as he said, “my goal for next year is to make it to the New England race in Vermont.” Freshman Max Holmes was awarded Second Team All-Conference after placing 15th in the tournament.
